Choosing a funeral home or cemetery can be an overwhelming decision, especially at an emotional time. That’s why it is important to know that there really is a difference.

Johnson County has been helping families since 1951. Today, we continue to serve families with quality, compassionate care, and we offer complete funeral services and options for all faiths. The beautiful funeral chapel was opened in 1995 and sits on the grounds of Johnson County Memorial Gardens, providing the convenience of making all arrangements from one central location. The well-manicured lawns of Johnson County Memorial Gardens feature traditional ground burial, as well as mausoleum entombment and impressive private estates mausoleums. We have responded to growing cremation trends by offering beautiful columbariums, scattering gardens, cremorials and cremorial benches.

Johnson County is also proud to offer burial options at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens and Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. Established in 1957, Oak Lawn's green lawns boast meticulous landscaping and a special Veterans area to commemorate those who have served our country. Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens was founded in 1973 and this spacious park provides a peaceful setting for reflection and remembrance.

The beautiful grounds of both these cemeteries also offer a wide range of interment options including traditional ground burial, lawn crypt gardens, mausoleum entombment and cremation niches.

Families can be assured that they will receive personalized, individual attention when making arrangements with Johnson County Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens, Oaklawn Memorial Gardens or Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
