Ann Myer

April 12, 1925 — November 3, 2017

Ann Myer, 92, of Overland Park, Kansas was born on Easter Sunday, April 12, 1925 in Iowa. She met the love of her life, Bill Myer CDR USN Ret at the tender age of 19.They married on July 5, 1944 after only three dates. They were devoted to one another for 68 years until Bill passed in 2012.

Ann was a social, compassionate woman that spent countless hours serving others. She was a tireless organizer dedicating much of her life to altruistic projects to benefit children; as well as, being greatly involved in her own children’s activities both in and out of school. She served as PTA President and other leadership positions, as well as room parent roles over the years raising enough money to buy uniforms for her son’s High School’s sports teams. She and Bill were very involved in scouting as leaders over many years. Her home was the “favorite place to be” according to the friends of both her children. She was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha (Beta Lambda Chapter) in New Mexico serving in many leadership capacities. She led numerous fundraisers for the sorority that ultimately donated one million dollars to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Ann was named New Mexico’s “Most Outstanding Girl” for her sorority in 1975 as a result of her countless hours of service.
