Maurine Kimel Blackwell passed away July 26, 2016 at Foxwood Springs Living Center, Raymore, MO. She was the oldest daughter of Ray and Marie Kimel of Clearwater, KS. She is survived by: her husband, Robert Blackwell; daughter, Sheri Seeds of Anchorage, AK; her sister, Patricia Dart and three nieces, also of Anchorage, AK. Maurine has three granddaughters and five great grandchildren. She received her B.S. and M.S. degrees from Emporia State University and Oregon State University, respectively, and taught in several Kansas High Schools. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 30 at Raymore Christian Church, 500 Peace Drive, Raymore, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3846 W. 75th Street, Prairie Village, KS, 66208. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsoncountychapel.com.
