Age 72 of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on July 20, 2016, at The Hospice House of Kansas City, Missouri from Cancer.
Willis was born on April 2, 1944 in Mt. Vernon, Missouri to Champ and Opal Murphy. He was a retired business man/ entrepreneur in the Insurance Industry. He was a United States Army Sergeant who served in the Vietnam War. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed fishing, playing golf and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Champ and Opal Murphy and his brother John Dallas Murphy.Willis is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marilyn Murphy, daughter Heidi Jaeger of Frederick, MD her husband Kevin Jaeger and grandchildren Sophie (11) and Luke (8) Jaeger, son Brady Murphy of Lisle, IL his wife Sara Murphy and grandchild Cole (2) brother Thomas Joseph Murphy of Dallas, TX his wife Janet Murphy and their children Tammy Jeffrey, Stacy Pullin Sean Murphy, sister-in-law Darlene Murphy and her children John Murphy, Teresa Murphy, Mark Murphy and Kristie MacDonald, nephew Bruce Piburn and niece Jennifer Ton and his beloved cat Lucy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Johnson County Funeral Chapel & Memorial Gardens.
The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at 1:00 on July 23, 2016.
