Donna Benton

Donna Jene Benton, 86, Carthage, Missouri, passed away peacefully March 15, 2019. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, William A. Benton whom she married November 19, 1977 and preceded her in death in 2002. Her sister, Wanda L. Titus also preceded her in death in 2011. The sisters enjoyed researching family genealogy together for many years.

Donna was born June 3, 1932 in Kansas City, Kansas to parents Chester B. and Ethel J. (Dawson) Lofflin. She grew up in Kansas City and after living in 8 states she retired from the Mohave County Health Department in Kingman, Arizona in 1994. In 1998 she and her husband returned to Missouri and lived at Pickering Place in Belton.  In 2014 she moved to Carthage, Missouri, to live next door to her son and his family. There she continued her years long passion for quilting and spending with her family.

She is survived by her son, Craig C. Hansen and his wife, Kendra J. (Wilson); 2 granddaughters, Amanda Cooperrider and her husband Adam, and Amber Potter; seven great-grandchildren, Caden, Ryland, Kyler (their father Robert Potter), Caraline, Donovan, Kenneth, and Josiah, all of Carthage, Missouri; her niece Deborah Rockford and her husband Bob; and her nephew Wes Masters and his wife, Pat.

The visitation is at 10:00 AM, and the service at 11 AM, on Thursday, March 21, at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210. Burial will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
