Frances Christina Lyle, 96, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at her home surrounded by family.
Frances was born October 7, 1921 to John and Anna Hagberg in Kansas City, MO.
At a young age, she moved to Raytown, MO with her parents and three sisters (Elsie, Tillie, and Evelyn) to start Hagberg Dairy. She graduated from Westport High School in 1940. Frances married Alva Ellis Lyle on November 4, 1947. The couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2017. She worked as a secretary for TWA from 1943 to 1954. After raising a family, she worked at the Shawnee Mission School district for 17 years until retiring in 1986.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents and sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Al; her daughters, Sharon Lyle and Carol (Steinhibel) Lyle; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Dave) Geldart, Lance Steinhibel, and Kate (Dan) Porazzo; and great grandchildren, Ben, Sam, and Jack Geldart.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM with service at 11 AM on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 10100 Metcalf Ave, OP, KS. Graveside service will be at 2 PM at Floral Hills in KC, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church or St. Luke’s Hospice Foundation.
