Geraldine (Geri) L. Woerth

1942 - 2019

Geraldine (Geri) L. Woerth was taken to heaven on April 20, 2019 surrounded by the love of her closest family and friends like the coziest of hugs.  Geri was born June 19, 1942 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kansas City, MO to parents Ellen and Joseph Donahue. She graduated from Redemptorist High School in 1961 and then from Floral Design School. Geri married Fred Woerth, the love of her life, on April 30th 1966.  They so enjoyed life together. One of the sweetest things ever is how Geri would meet her Freddie at the front door every day after work, with their favorite music playing and dance their way into the kitchen.  They had 35 glorious years together.

Geri cherished being a homemaker and cooking was one of her passions.  In fact, Geri was working on a cook book of all her favorite recipes.  There was not an herb she didn’t know or a dish she couldn’t cook!  She was so generous at Christmas Time with all of her baked goodies that her family and friends always looked forward to the cookies, pies and cakes from Geri and twin sister Jackie during the Holidays.

Being very creative and wanting to use her floral design background, Geri started her own successful business called “Flowers by Geri” working mostly with Corporate Events.  Her sister Jackie is the painter in the family, and together they also participated in many Craft Shows throughout the greater Metropolitan area, wowing folks with their floral arrangements and colorful paintings,

Geri loved to travel.  She and her late husband Fred traveled throughout Europe visiting such Countries as England, Italy and Switzerland.  They also spent time in Wales and Japan.  Stateside, they enjoyed spending time in Hawaii, California and Las Vegas.  When not traveling, Geri loved to visit the local Casinos.  Harrah’s was her favorite, where she had many friends. She played the slot machines and when those bells would ring…it was a Good Day!

Geri was also quite the Equestrian.  She had an Arabian named Gertrude’s Folly that she loved to ride.  She both rode in the American Royal Parade as well as competed in many Horse Shows.

Geri Woerth was one of the kindest, generous, most positive people you would ever want to know.  To have her as your friend was a true blessing, but to have her as your sister, was a lifelong bond like no other.  She and her twin sister Jackie meant everything to each.  Life was a journey that they took together through laughter and tears, sharing each amazing moment.

The family would like to recognize and thank the Doctors and Nurses of Shawnee Mission Medical Center for their excellent care and sincere kindness…You are The BEST!

Geri Woerth was proceeded in death by her parents Ellen and Joseph Donahue, Husband, Fred Woerth and brothers Robert Donahue and Mike Donahue.  She will be dearly missed by her sister Jackie and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
