Lora Mae (Gooch) Koenig Montgomery, 85, passed away on January 2, 2018 at Foxwood Springs facility in Raymore, MO. She was born August 1, 1932, the 4th child of Roland and Amelia (Brehm) Gooch, in Browning, MO.

She graduated from Meadville High School in Meadville, Missouri, and received a scholarship to attend Chillicothe Business School in Chillicothe. After graduation, she moved to Kansas City and did secretarial work for several years. She met and married Richard Koenig and they adopted a son, David, when he was 4 months old. She became a stay-at-home mom and did typing for a cookbook company and did sewing and alterations for many customers. Richard preceded her in death in September 1990. She began secretarial work again and also worked for the postal service prior to moving to Macks Creek to become postal mistress. She married Henry Montgomery June 9, 1993 and then retired from the postal service when they moved to Camdenton.

Lora was a member of the Camdenton VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and volunteered working at the Camdenton facility, and spent many hours helping out. One of her duties was treasurer and mailing out the newsletter.

Harry preceded her in death in 2004, and David also preceded her in May 2008. Others preceding her were her parents; three brothers, Herman, Dale, and Billy Gooch; three sister-in-laws, Cleo Gooch, Vickie Gooch, and Carol Davies; one nephew, Billy Dale Gooch; and one brother-in-law, Joe Powell.

She is survived by one granddaughter, Kirstin Roe; two brothers, Alan Gooch, Jim (Gwen) Gooch, both of Raymore; one sister, Marilyn Powell Hermitage; brother-in-law, Gene (Shelda) Koenig; and nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Lake Presbyterian Church, Osage Beach.

She was beloved by all her family who will truly miss her.

A graveside service will be held at 2PM on Tuesday, January 9, at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210, in the indoor mausoleum.
