Marcus Wilkinson

Marcus John Wilkinson, 35, Raytown, passed away Sunday February 3rd, 2019.  Marc was born on December 10, 1983 in West Allis, Wisconsin along with his sister Missy and his brother Matt.   The family moved to the Kansas City area in 1991.  He graduated from Blue Valley Northwest in 2002 and after graduating he lived in Lawrence and started the band “Sidewise” with his brother Matt.   He then went into the Air Force Reserves and then the Army Infantry. He was stationed at Fort Drum in New York and did a tour for nine months in Afghanistan before being honorably discharged in 2013. Marc was currently a truck driver for Saia Trucking Company.    Marc enjoyed in his spare time riding motorcycles, listening to music, traveling over seas where he had been to England and Scotland, and spending time with his son, Silas, and the rest of his family.    Marc was still very much a part of the band “Sidewise” where he helped as a roadie while on tour.

Marc is survived by his son, Silas Wilkinson; parents: Wayne and Sue Wilkinson; his triplet sister, Missy Zadow(Brian) and his triplet brother, Matt Wilkinson(Liza); sister, Liza Korry (Tim); Nieces: Zoey Zadow and Sancia Scharhag; nephew, Joshua Korry and many other relatives and friends.

Marc was a great guy and simply enjoyed living life to the fullest and having fun along the way.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be from 1-2:00pm Saturday February 9, 2019 at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave.  A service to celebrate his life will be at 2:00pm.   Burial will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
