Obituary

Courtney Lynn (Smith) Bruntz, 42, of Roeland Park, KS, passed away on 10/20/26. She was born on August, 17th, 1984 in Wichita, KS.

Courtney was a beloved wife, daughter, sister and friend. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Bruntz; stepchildren, Kayden and Kyndal Bruntz; mother, Debra Davis; father, Randy Smith; brother, Jordan Smith. She was known for her bright smile, her servant heart, her love for her dogs Bella and Bodhi, her passion for running and most importantly her genuine care for others. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Cecil and Joy Smith; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Kathryn Daniels; and her dear Auno and Uncle George.

Courtney was very passionate about health and wellness as shown by her dedication to running, further exemplified by the determination she showed through completing multiple marathons. Her magnetic personality made her a natural and exemplary salesperson in her career. She never met a dog or a lake she did not love. She was selfless above all else, whether shown through her dedication to her family, her love for animals or the immediate inclination to help anyone in need.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on October 30th, 2026 at 9:00am at Johnson County Chapel & Funeral Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those that are not able to attend honor her memory by being of service to others, keeping a kind heart and helping out an animal in need whenever possible.

She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
