Donald Ray Dibble, 90, of Manhattan, KS died May 29, 2026. The memorial service will be on June 13, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Country Club Christian Church, 6100 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm in the church parlor right before the service. Burial will be at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Country Club Christian Church or the Meadowlark Good Samaritan Fund. (www.meadowlark.org).

Don was born November 27, 1935, in rural Guymon, OK. Preceding him in death were both parents, Marion and Velma Dibble and step-father Harry Thrall.

He attended grade school at Brown’s Corner, a one room country school North of Guymon, OK and high school at Rolla High School, Rolla, KS. He received a BS degree from Phillips University, Enid OK in 1957 and an MS degree from Emporia State University, Emporia, KS in 1965. He and his wife have been members of Country Club Christian Church since 1970.

A longtime resident of Prairie Village, KS, Don retired in 1996 following a 40-year career in education. He taught at Shawnee Mission West High School, Shawnee Mission, KS (1964-1996). Prior to Shawnee Mission he taught in Topeka, KS; Boise City, OK; and Buhl, ID. Don also worked part time for Sears in Overland Park, KS from 1967-1999. Then he started working for Estate Sale Companies in 2000 with the last company being Waterman & Jae.

In June of 2023, Don and his wife, Mary, moved to Manhattan, Kansas, to be closer to their daughter and her family. From the moment they arrived, Don embraced his new community, dedicating his time and talents to volunteering throughout both Meadowlark and the greater Manhattan area. His servant’s heart, warm spirit, and willingness to help wherever needed quickly made a lasting impact on those around him.

Don is survived by his wife Mary F. Dibble; one daughter and her husband Julie and Kent Kiracofe of Manhattan, Kansas; one son and his wife Jay and Denise Dibble of Katy, TX and six grandchildren: Brady Kiracofe (Kelsey Arnold), Jillian Simar (Chanler), Max Kiracofe, Anna, Amber and Jane Dibble.
