Edward N. Roith, Sr.
Born January 13, 1930 – Passed Away August 1, 2026 at 96.
A proud veteran, Ed joined the Air Force at the age of 17, during which he traveled the world. Following the military he chose a career in cosmetology where he met his wife, Muriel. Later, after retiring from a successful career in sales he poured his energy into barbecue and became a world champion. Ed lived a life filled with purpose and a desire to do things well. He enjoyed woodworking, photography, calligraphy and ballroom dancing, approaching every pursuit with excellence. He was a man who loved learning, creating, competing, and always finding something new to master.
To his family, Ed was much more than his many accomplishments. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a steady presence in the lives of those he loved. His family will remember his determination, his talents, his stories, and the unique way he approached life. His legacy will live on through the family he built and the many lives he touched. Ed is survived by his four children—Ed Roith II, Debra, Jeff, and Greg, along with nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the VFW Hall, 9550 Pflumm, Lenexa, Kansas.
