With a heart overflowing with gratitude for a full and fulfilled life, Elizabeth Farmer Myers, 101, passed peacefully surrounded by family on July 10, 2026, at Lakeview Village in Lenexa, Kansas.

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 21, 1924, to Emma Lee McAfee and Thurston Patterson Farmer, Liz enjoyed recalling treasured memories of her childhood and young adult years in Tulsa. After attending Central High School and later Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, she studied at William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri. She continued her education at the University of Tulsa, where she majored in Spanish, played violin in the orchestra, and joined Delta Gamma sorority. Following graduation, she met and married “the only man I ever wanted to marry,” L. Brady Myers, in 1950.

The young couple moved to Wichita and later to Kansas City, where they raised four sons. Liz fully enjoyed her calling as a devoted wife, mother and dedicated homemaker, and continually went the extra mile to provide a home filled with love and many meaningful activities for her growing family. She and Brady gave their sons the priceless gift of a happy childhood, and taught by example the importance of hospitality, honesty, education, responsibility, community, and respect for others.

Liz had a keen eye for antiques and collectibles, and for many years she deftly ran her collectibles booth in Mission, Kansas -- with good cheer and good taste. She was deeply enriched by her participation in the life of Village Presbyterian Church, and particularly enjoyed her many years singing in the chancel choir. Among her favorite hymns were “America the Beautiful” and ”Dear Lord and Father of Mankind.”

In later years, Liz and Brady lived at Lakeview Village in Lenexa, Kansas, where they enjoyed many friendships and the lovely atmosphere there. Liz was ever-grateful for good health and the love and care of family and friends. She took an interest in everyone she met, and made it a point to learn about their lives and families. Her wonderful long-term memory enabled her to recount precious memories from a century of living – and even sing favorite hymns by heart. She lived independently in her Lakeview apartment until the day after she turned 101, when she moved to Lakeview's Care Center. Her family is deeply thankful for the outstanding care she received from the Care Center's staff and Ascend Hospice team.

Preceding Liz in death was her husband of 57 years, L. Brady Myers, and her brother, Thurston P. "Bud" Farmer, Jr. She is survived by her four sons and daughters-in-law: Jeffrey & Andrea Myers, Frankfurt am Main, Germany; Brian & Merrill Myers, Prairie Village, KS; Alan & Tracey Myers, Longmont, CO; and Patrick & Rhoda Myers, Colorado Springs, CO; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and beloved nieces and nephews.

Her deep devotion and love, uncompromising principles and integrity, and lifelong spirit of generosity and selflessness will forever be a source of inspiration for all who knew and cherished her.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Central Time in the Heritage Activities Center at Lakeview Village, 9100 Park Street, in Lenexa, KS, with Chaplain Sara Jo Waldron officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Village Church Endowment Trust, the Lakeview Village Foundation, the Lumin Education in Dallas, or the charity of your choice.
