Janet Lou Searle, 92, passed away on September 3, 2026.

Janet was born on October 21, 1933, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Thomas and Florence Cowdery Davidson. Growing up, she especially enjoyed weekend trips to her grandparents’ farm in Gardner, Kansas.

Throughout her life, Janet remained devoted to her Catholic faith. She regularly attended Bible studies and was an active member of a rosary group.

Janet worked for Sprint for 30 years. During her career, she returned to school and, at the age of 54, proudly earned her associate degree.

In her spare time, Janet enjoyed crafts, puzzles, and games. She also had a love of travel, with memorable trips to Italy and Ireland, as well as several cruises during her retirement.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Florence Davidson; her brother, Tommy; and her sister, Barbara.

She is survived by her three children, Joe Searle (Danette) and Julie Belozer (Jim), both of Overland Park, Kansas, and Jeff Searle (Ann) of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Church of the Ascension on Thursday, September 10, 2026. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. A reception at the church will follow. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made in Janet’s name to Ascend Hospice & Palliative Care.
