Jeannette Ann Farney, age 68 of Lawrence, Kansas, passed away in the evening of August 3, 2026, with loving family by her side. Jeannette was born on January 20, 1958, in Kansas City, Kansas, daughter of Benjamin F. Farney Sr. and Mary Louise Farney. She was the oldest of five children, with three brothers and one sister. She graduated from Bishop Miege High School in 1976 and worked in the insurance industry until she retired in 2018.

Jan enjoyed music, road trips, Native American jewelry and pottery. She loved talking with her friends and family and was willing to help anyone she could. She was a wealth of knowledge. Her presence will be remembered with fondness and gratitude for the countless lives she touched throughout her journey. She will be missed dearly.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents; Benjamin F. Farney Sr. and Mary Louise Farney; and her nephew, Jacob Farney.

Survivors include her son, Matthew and his wife Rupinder Farney; grandson, Logan Thomas; brothers, Benjamin F. Farney Jr., Bradley and his wife Ileana Farney, Robert Farney; sister, Jennifer and her husband Shawn Saia; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held, Sunday, October 18th, 2026 1:00pm at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas. A Celebration of Life will take place at Antioch Park (Shelter 1), 6501 Antioch Rd, Merriam, Kansas from 2:00pm to 5:00pm following the service.
