Robert Emil “Bob” Slezak

Robert Emil “Bob” Slezak, 82, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away September 11, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Bob was born March 25, 1944, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Raymond and Dorothy (Eigenmann) Slezak. He grew up with his brothers, John and Jerry, and was always proud of his Iowa roots.

Bob met the love of his life, Andrea “Andi” Levy, in high school in Iowa City. Together, they built a life that took them from Iowa City to Des Moines, to Kansas City, back to Des Moines, and eventually to the Lake of the Ozarks, where they retired.

Bob and Andi raised three children: Christopher (Amy), Kevin (Kay), and Kristen (Jack). Their family grew to include seven grandchildren, and in January 2026, Bob proudly became a great-grandfather to Anders.

Bob spent his career in banking and finance, but he was happiest outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, searching for morels with Andi, golfing, and boating. Lake Rathbun was an early favorite, and later the Lake of the Ozarks became home. His boats included a Rinker named “Champagne” and a Playcraft pontoon named “Champagne Again,” proudly sporting Iowa Hawkeye logos.

Bobby loved his Hawkeyes, trips to Kinnick Stadium, family vacations, winter escapes to Florida, his dogs, a good vodka cocktail, and the full moon. He was meticulous about taking care of his things. If it sat outside, it probably had a cover on it. And if something broke, there was always duct tape.

Bob never met a stranger. He could talk to anyone, anywhere, and it usually wasn’t long before there was a story being told and a laugh being shared.

Bob is survived by his wife, Andrea; his children and their spouses, Christopher and Amy Slezak, Kevin and Kay Slezak, and Kristen and Jack Levine; his grandchildren, Rachel, Alex, Justin, Jessica, Jake, Lauren and Ethan; his great-grandson, Anders; his brother, Jerry; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John.

Bob’s final weeks were difficult, but they will not define his story.

His 82 years will.

Bobby loved his family deeply, made friends wherever he went and knew how to enjoy life. He leaves us with plenty of great memories, even better stories, and more than a few worth raising a glass to.

A Celebration of Life honoring Bob will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Johnson County Funeral Chapel & Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, Kansas. A luncheon will follow the service.
