Mary Morgan

April 8, 1936 — March 30, 2020

Raytown, Missouri

Mary Elizabeth (Foster) Morgan went home to be with her Lord on March 30, 2020 at the age of 83.

Mary was born on April 8, 1936 to Rhetta Marie (Brown) and Ernest Foster Sr. in Gas City, KS. She graduated from Iola High School and went on to Southern Nazarene University where she met and married her husband, Karlos Morgan.

Mary spent most of her life as a homemaker and raising her 3 sons, faithful to teach them the ways of the Lord, including a nightly bedside Bible story and prayer.  She was a faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene since elementary school days, when she gave her heart to Jesus.  In her later years, she attended The Master’s Community Church and Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene.  She enjoyed having guests often for Sunday dinner.  Her greatest joy was becoming a grandmother to five grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Gregg, and her brother, Ernest Foster, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Karlos; her 2 sons, Rev. Michael (Diana) Morgan of Woodland, WA and Timothy (Janet) Morgan of Raytown, MO.  Her 5 grandchildren:  Melanie (Eugene) Lee, Angela Morgan, Jared (Carissa) Morgan, all of Maywood Park, OR; Melinda Morgan of Raytown, MO and Nathaniel Morgan of Little Rock AFB.  Her 4 Great-Grandchildren:  Madelyn and Keegan Lee and Ameron and Cade Morgan; one sister-in-law, Leora Foster of Wichita, KS.

The family would like to extend our gratitude to the St. Joseph Medical Center staff who were with her as she passed from this life into the hands of her loving God, and to our friends and extended family for their support.

A private graveside service will be held at Shawnee Mission Memorial Garden cemetery with Rev.  Jay Hunton presiding.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Nazarene Compassionate Ministries or to the charity of your choice.
