EDITH MAE BOWEN

Edith Mae Bowen (Edie), 87, went to be with Jesus on January 15, 2020. Edie’s unwavering faith in God, and the love she had for her family and friends, carried her through the difficult final weeks and days of her life on this earth. During that time, she was a living example to others of the perfect peace we can experience when our minds are fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

(Isaiah 26:3; Hebrews 12:2)

Edie knew Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior and served Him with her whole heart. She adored her four grandsons and gave them her unconditional love and support. She fully understood the ongoing spiritual battle we all face and prayed diligently for them every day. To those around her, she gave generously of her time and could always be found visiting someone who was sick or lonely, providing a meal, or volunteering in some capacity all in an effort to point the way to Jesus.

In addition to her love, generosity, and compassion, Edie will also be remembered for her sense of humor and tremendous energy. She loved to laugh and brought joy to those around her by just being herself. While we love her and will miss her more than can be imagined, we look forward to the day we are reunited with her in Heaven.

Edie was born on May 29, 1932, in Stewart, Iowa to Rosie and Roland Stewart. She was preceded in death by Bill, her dearly loved husband of 61 years, as well as her 9 siblings; Glen Stewart, Lawrence Stewart, Floyd Steward, Earl Stewart, Marion Stewart, Ruby White, Lucille Kuster, Pat Rynearson, and David Stewart.

She is survived by her daughter Cindi Kimmel and her husband John; her daughter Michelle and her husband Walt; her cherished grandsons, Jeff Kimmel and his wife Megan, Mark Kimmel, Chris Braeger, Steven Braeger; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
