Melba Holland

Melba J. Holland, 90, of Tonganoxie, KS passed away April 22, 2019 at Legends Healthcare in Tonganoxie, KS where she had lived the last 3 years.

Melba was born in Lamar, Missouri to Rev. Everett and Josephine (Gard) Holland.

She had previously lived at Overland Park Towers for 14 years and attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Overland Park, KS.  Melba worked for Sunshine Biscuit Company for 34 years, retiring in 1986.  She was not ready to stay at home and continued working for Arby’s for another 8 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Everett Holland Jr. (Virginia), Alvie Holland (Lee), sisters; Jewell Blair (Lee), Mary French (Donald).

She is survived by niece, Linda Schiltz of Tonganoxie, KS and 4 generations of nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 1:00 – 1:30 PM with Service at 1:30 PM at Johnson County Funeral Chapel followed by Graveside service at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS  66210.
