Robert Beckingham

February 18, 1930 — June 27, 2018

Robert Alton Beckingham peacefully passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018. As a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, he wore his class ring every day to honor his school. He enlisted in the army during the Cold War. Robert enjoyed being an assistant boy Scout leader as well. He was an accountant and worked for AT&T for many years. Robert was married to Margaret Ann Stacey Beckingham since 1957. They had 3 children. R. Jeffrey Beckingham 1959, Glenn A. Beckingham 1963, Apryl A. Beckingham 1966. They raised these children in Freehold, New Jersey until 1976 when Robert was transferred to the Kansas City area by AT&T. Settling in Overland Park for many years Robert and Margaret lived in Spain for Roberts work with AT&T from 1986-1988. They returned to Kansas in 1988 when he retired at age 59.  Robert, who liked to be called "Bob", was a world traveler, golfer, and enjoyed his time as a Marshall for the Tom Watson Golf Tournaments.  Robert is survived by his wife Peggy, his daughter Apryl and 4 grandchildren:  Max Prince, Katy Beckingham, Thomas Beckingham and Quinn Beckingham. Robert was an honorable man that built a family based on love and faith.  Friends and family are invited to grieve, reminisce and celebrate the life of Robert Alton Beckingham at his memorial service at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church Chapel on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 2pm.
