Thomas ‘Tom’ Joseph Roy, 76, of Lenexa, KS, passed away on June 30, 2019. His visitation will be Saturday, July 6th at 10:00 am followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am and ending with a reception, all at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Shriners Children’s Hospitals or Olathe Hospice House.
He was born December 9, 1942 in Findlay, Ohio to Joseph and Margaret Roy of Van Buren, Ohio. In 1963 he married the love of his life, Paula ‘Polly’ Butler. They lived in Finday, Ohio, where they had three children before moving to Overland Park, Kansas in 1973.
Tom is survived by his wife, Polly of 55 years; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Vernie Reichling, granddaughter Jamie (Nick) Mull, great-granddaughter Kinsley Mull; grandson Eric Reichling, son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Monica Roy, grandson Chase Roy, granddaughter Shelby Roy; daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Todd Parker, grandson Brett Parker, granddaughters Erin and Quinn Parker; sister and brother-in-law, Phillis and Jim Inbody of Findlay, OH and various nieces and nephews.
Tom was a member and past Master of Rosedale Masonic Lodge. He was an active member of Abdallah Shriners, serving as Chairman of Abdallah’s Shriners Hospital for Children’s local golf tournament. He was also active in the Royal Order of Jesters.
