James P. Elliott

James P. "Jim" Elliott born in St. Joseph, MO Nov. 19, 1944 passed away Sept. 24,2021 at Advent Hospital in Merriam, KS, age 76.  He resided at Merriam Gardens Healthcare in Merriam, KS.  Jim retired from Yellow Freight May 3, 2002 with one million miles of accident free over the road truck driving.  His CB handle was "Shade Tree."  Survivors include wife Peggy; son Adam Elliott, daughter Jennifer Lynn Elliott of Leawood, KS , Adam's wife Jen, two grandsons Aaron and Brandon of Overland Park, KS and two very beloved dogs Teddy and Chance.


Jim's gift to the world was his sense of humor, his love of music (especially the 70s), and a true generosity of spirit.


Visitation 6 - 8 pm Wednesday, Sept. 29 at Johnson County Memorial Gardens located at 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS.  Memorial Service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30 at the same location, Graveside Service at 11 a.m., followed by a Luncheon at Noon.
