A. Yvonne McCoy

Yvonne McCoy passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, at her residence in Belton, MO. 

Yvonne was born June 8, 1935, in Huntsville, AR. While her childhood was spent in Arkansas, her father always told her she would be their child to move away and not come back, except to visit. Indeed, Yvonne did exactly that! She moved to Wichita, KS where she met her husband Bill McCoy, and they started their life together, having four children and being married for 68 years! They spent a majority of their life in Kansas before moving to Missouri to be closer to family. Yvonne worked her career in retail management at the Venture Stores, while also managing the household and children. She was also active in her Church and made numerous friends through her faith.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; two sons, Phillip McCoy and Kent McCoy; and two grandsons, Joshua Clark and Brandon McCoy. Yvonne is survived by her daughter, Sherri (Dale) Strowbridge; son Greg (Tammi) McCoy; two grandsons, Charlie McCoy and Joe McCoy; her only granddaughter, Brooke (Stephen) Dowell; four great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Yvonne was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, Grammy, Mimi, and friend; just to name a few of her titles. She will be deeply missed but will forever be in our hearts and memories.

Visitation will be held on October 8, 2025, from 11am-12pm (noon) at Johnson County Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 12pm, following visitation.
