Amanda Brierly Dresie

Amanda Brierly Dresie, born Amanda Graham, passed away unexpectedly in Olathe, Kansas on August 19, 2026, at the age of 46. She was born on February 2, 1980, in Kansas City, Missouri, and will be remembered as a loving, generous, and deeply caring woman whose warmth drew others to her with ease.

Amanda graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in Overland Park and then Kansas State University and devoted herself wholeheartedly to the life she built around family, care, and connection. She worked as a homemaker and mother, a role she carried with devotion and pride. She also had a competitive career as an amateur figure skater and coach, an accomplishment that reflected both her discipline and her love for the sport. Being a competitive skater and coach remained one of the achievements she cherished most dearly.

She was known for a spirit that was outgoing and approachable, as well as kind, compassionate, and giving. Amanda loved movies (especially Superman), the theater, music, skating, dogs, and the Kansas City Chiefs. She always loved the mountains and treasured time spent in Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park, Colorado with her husband, children, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends.  Cheley Camps in Estes Park were part of her childhood for many years, and it meant a great deal to her that her own children to attended Cheley as well, passing along a valuable legacy.

Of all that mattered to Amanda, her children Madalin, Annabel, and Charlie stood at the center of her heart. She was proud of them and of their talents and accomplishments, and that pride was one of the defining joys of her life. Her love for her family was steady and generous, shaping the home and memories they shared.

Amanda is survived by her husband, Jared Dresie, and by their children, Madalin, Annabel, and Charlie. She is also survived by her aunt and uncle, Bob and Lynn Fletcher; her uncle, John Fletcher; her aunt and uncle, Bill and Sue Graham; her uncle Donald Graham; and her aunt Debbie Graham.  As well as many cousins and friends.  Each of them carries forward the memory of her love, her positive energy, and the many ways she made others feel welcomed and cared for.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Janet and Alan Graham, whose memory remained an important part of her life.

Amanda’s life was marked by devotion to her family, pride in her children, and a generous heart that touched many people. She will be remembered for her compassion, her love of skating, her joy in the mountains, and the bright, caring presence she brought to those around her. Her memory will be held close by all who loved her.
