Anne Loweth Kyle
October 3, 1928 – January 24, 2025
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Anne is preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Alice (Lee) Loweth, Jean (sister), Charlie (brother), Fred Dixon (son-in-law) and her husband, Charles Howard Kyle.
She is survived by her children; Nancy Kyle of Corvallis, Oregon, David Kyle of Corvallis, Oregon, Linda (Kyle) Smith and Tom Smith (son-in-law) of Overland Park, Kansas, and Tom Kyle of Cincinnati, Ohio. Anne had six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who knew her as “Grannie Annie”.
Anne graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Agriculture (Animal Husbandry). A resident of Overland park for 55 years, she spent her last 16 years at Tallgrass Creek, where she thrived with great neighbors and meaningful new friendships.
She was an avid reader – and an accomplished quilter with many examples distributed throughout the family. Married to Charlie for 62 years, they enjoyed bridge, golf, and travel throughout the US and Europe. Anne enjoyed attending musical performances, operas and church services (Charlie performed at many of these events). In earlier days, Anne had been a deacon at Village Presbyterian Church. She also worked at Meyer Jewelry and Deluxe Checking.
Her love of dogs was demonstrated as she showed English Setters for many years, but it was the love of her family which was her greatest joy. Many summer trips west – most often to the Rocky Mountains. A family of 6 in a pop-up trailer for two weeks at a time provided many joys and stories.
Anne’s kindness and quick wit were still on display in her final days. She will be missed.
Anne’s family is grateful to the wonderful staff at Blue Sage Pointe, and to the Ascend Hospice Organization, who made her final days as comfortable as possible.
A celebration of life is scheduled for early spring.
