Mr. Atwell Jenkins

Atwell ?A.C.? Jenkins 92, Lenexa, passed away peacefully Tuesday February 6, 2007.

A.C. was born in Clay County, Alabama on July 17, 1914. He and his wife, Micky, moved to the Kansas City area in 1944 where they were both employed by Pratt-Whitney. Mr. Jenkins soon opened Jenkins Auto Parts and Service, which he ran for 45 years until his retirement. A.C. loved the outdoors, he was an avid hunter, and enjoyed his home on Truman Lake. He was a Shriner in the Ararat Temple, having served as a president of the Provost Cycle Unit.

Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by Miscal his beloved wife of 70 years in 2006 and his son in law Jay W. Butler in 2005.

His daughter Wanda Butler, two grandchildren Carolyn (Jim) West and Mark (Kristiana) Butler and three great-grandchildren survive him. ?Pop? will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be 11AM Friday February 9th at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Shriners? Hospitals for Children 2900 Rocky Point Drive Tampa, FL 33607-1460
