Bea Curry, age 85, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Friday, May 25, 2007 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

Bea was born June 15, 1921 to Alvin F. and Amanda E. (Larson) Anderson in Silver Creek, Nebraska. At the age of 16, she graduated from high school in Osceola, Nebraska and went to summer school at Kearney State Teacher?s College. She began teaching in a country schoolhouse in Polk County Nebraska at the age of 16 and taught for 10 years. She was united in marriage to Harold James Curry on October 3, 1946 in Swede Home, Nebraska. One year after their marriage, they opened a business and have continued to work together ever since. She was an active member of Atonement Lutheran Church for 42 years and enjoyed bowling and playing bridge.

She is survived by her husband Harold; her children Carna, Max, Jamie, and Lori, and their spouses; 9 granddaughters and spouses; 1 grandson and 1 great-grandson. She was and always will be the heart of our family. She has always been in God?s hands and now she is in His arms.

A celebration of her life will begin with a gathering of family and friends on Tuesday, May 29th from 7:00 ? 9:00 p.m. at Atonement Lutheran Church, 9948 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas. A celebration of her life continues on Wednesday, May 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the church. A reception will follow the service.

Interment will be at D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Memorial Gardens in Overland Park, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bertha?s name are suggested to the Altar Guild at Atonement Lutheran Church.
