Blanca Q. Rardin

Blanca was a loving, strong, and remarkable woman whose life was filled with adventure, courage, and an enduring love for the people around her. One of the greatest adventures of her life was leaving her beloved homeland of Bolivia to build a new life in the United States, a country she came to embrace with tremendous pride and where she was proud to become a citizen. From one home to another, and from dreaming of a future to creating one, her journey was a testament to her strength, determination, and unwavering belief that a better tomorrow was always possible. She built a beautiful life filled with love, family, friendship, and dreams. Blanca had an unwaveringly positive spirit and an extraordinary ability to make those around her believe that anything was possible. She lived by a simple but powerful belief: if you could dream about something, you could find a way to make it happen. To Blanca, “impossible” was never an answer. There was always another path, another idea, another way forward. She had a special way of making the people she loved feel that their dreams were worth pursuing, that their efforts mattered, and that they were capable of more than they realized. She faced life with determination and optimism, and she passed that same confidence and hope on to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She shared that belief most deeply with those she treasured above all: her son Robert, her adopted daughter Anni, and her beloved grandchildren, whom she cherished every single day. Blanca also had a wonderful gift for lifting people up. When life felt difficult, she could somehow help you see things differently. Her optimism was contagious. She reminded us that problems could be solved, that setbacks did not have to define us, and that there was always a reason to keep going. She loved movies, too. For Blanca, going to the movies was about much more than simply watching a film. It was a chance to step into another world, become part of a story, share in an adventure, and experience different lives and places through the magic of the screen. Blanca, like her husband Ronald, had a deep and lifelong love of education and learning. Her creativity knew no bounds, nor did her curiosity about science, especially space. She never lost her fascination with the universe, its possibilities, and all that might still be discovered. Just as important to her was making sure her children and grandchildren had access to the best education possible and every opportunity to learn, grow, and pursue their own dreams. Blanca never really believed that a stranger had to remain a stranger. She would strike up conversations wherever she went, genuinely curious about who people were and what stories they had to tell. She had a rare ability to find connections where others might have seen only a passing face, and she made people feel noticed, welcomed, and important especially those less fortunate than her. Perhaps one of the greatest testaments to Blanca’s capacity for love was the more than 50 years of devotion she shared with her husband Ronald. Through every season of life, through joys and challenges alike, they cared deeply for one another and found happiness simply in being together. They spent their days side by side until Ronald’s passing two years ago, always celebrating one another, taking pride in each other’s accomplishments, and building a love that only grew deeper with time. Above all, Blanca was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her family was at the heart of her life, and she gave her love generously and completely. She was someone you could turn to for encouragement, comfort, laughter, and the reassurance that, somehow, things would work out. We will miss her more than words can say. But the love she gave, the optimism she shared, and the courage she inspired will remain with us. Her light lives on in the family and friends who were blessed to know and love her, and in every dream we continue to pursue because she taught us to believe it was possible. Hers was truly a life well lived. A life filled with love, hope, curiosity, courage, and an enduring belief in what could be.
