Bridgett Mary Martin, Johnson, Birdie Whitehead

Bridgett was born in Newfoundland Canada, to Patrick Martin & Mary Hefferhan on Oct. 25th, 1938. Passed away at 1:55pm on Jan.19th 2026 in Waverly, Kansas in her Granddaughter Jessica Lockwoods home. She is 1 of 10 children. In 1959, Bridgett ended her marriage to James Johnson and wed Jerry Whitehead in 1971. In 1957 she gave birth to a son John Johnson, who in 1981 married Cherry Hinrichs. She was blessed with a granddaughter in 1982 and a grandson in 1984. Bridgett loved her family with all her heart, when she became a great grandmother to a girl in 2002, and 2 boys, 1 in 2004, and 1 in 2006 she was so thrilled. She also gained an adopted granddaughter in 2008 with another great granddaughter. She also gained a granddaughter in law in 2016, and an adopted great grandson. In 2020 she gained a Grandson in law and many great grandchildren. Bridgett lived with her sister Terri Whittington. She was very loved and will be very much missed.

Bridgett is proceeded in death by both parents, husband Jerry Whitehead, Ex husband James Johnson, 2 sisters, and 1 brother, along with 1 niece and 1 nephew.

Bridgett is survived in death by Son & Daughter in law John and Cherry Johnson (Waverly, Ks), Sister Terri Whittington (Emporia, Ks), Rose Riley (Colorado), Anne Wake, Madonna Clarke, Margrett Martin Brewer Staffard, and Micheal Martin (Canada), along with 3 grandchildren, 2 grandchildren in laws, and several nieces and nephew and great grandchildren.
