Carolyn Jones-McCreath

Carolyn S. Jones-McCreath, 83, of Overland Park, died peacefully on Thursday, Sept 15, 2022. Carolyn was born in 1939 in Tulsa, OK to R.C. and Katherine Bell. Her youth was spent in Minneapolis, MN before she moved to the Kansas City area. After graduating from Paseo High School, Carolyn went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Education from UMKC. Carolyn married her high school sweetheart, Vernon W. Jones, in 1963. After teaching 6th grade in Shawnee Mission, she stayed home to raise her three children. Carolyn obtained her real estate broker’s license and had a very successful real estate career for many years before retiring. Late in life, she remarried and found a loving companion in Loren McCreath. She will be remembered for her love of cats, creative endeavors including sewing for family and friends, and working in her beloved garden. She volunteered for many years in the community, including Meals on Wheels and at Blessings Abound. Carolyn leaves behind her sister, Ginny Garber, her son Brian Jones, MD, and daughters Melissa Molteni and Jennifer Grotheer. Carolyn has 8 grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
