ROBERT C. HOWARD
Robert C. Howard passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010 at The Forum in Overland Park, KS.
Robert was born to John Howard, Jr. and Julia Kleine Howard on January 16, 1917 in Yonkers, NY.
Robert served in the Army’s 85th Infantry Division in Africa and Italy during WWII and was awarded two battle stars.
Following graduation from Columbia University, Robert worked first for the Simoniz Company and later for Libby, McNeil and Libby (Nestle). During his years with Libby, McNeil and Libby, he supervised warehouse operations in Georgia, Illinois, California and Kansas. Following his retirement in 1983, he volunteered at Harvesters.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Grace; his brother, John (Bud) Howard; his parents, and his grandparents. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Agnes Howard of Bethel, CT, cousins Irwin (Bud) and Mimi Bitter of Punta Gorda, FL and, his extended Kansas family, Jim, Mary Ann and Rebecca Reichenbach, as well as many friends.
Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to City Union Mission, The Salvation Army, or Kansas City Hospice.
