Cruz Alvardo Perez

Cruz Perez, 90, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Born on September 14, 1934, Cruz lived a long and full life centered around family, laughter, and simple joys. He was a devoted husband to Rosa Perez of sixty-eight years and a proud father to his sons Robert Perez, Joel Perez, John Perez, Jerry Perez, and Cruz Perez Jr. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Deborah Ann Sexton.

Cruz’s legacy continues through his grandchildren: Tiffany Harkins, Jessica Leon, Ashley Perez, Chloe Brown, Robby Perez, Jessie Perez, James Perez, and Joel Perez. He was also blessed with twenty two great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

A man deeply rooted in family values, Cruz was known for his warm heart and generous spirit. He had a gift for bringing smiles to those around him and was lovingly regarded as the family jokester. His sense of humor and selflessness left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

In his leisure time, Cruz found happiness in fishing and cheering on his favorite football and baseball teams. These simple pleasures reflected his appreciation for life’s everyday moments.

A funeral service honoring Cruz’s life will be held on Monday April 21st , 2025 at Johnson County Funeral Chapel & Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS 66210 1Pm will be visiting hour followed at 2PM will be the funeral service followed by 3PM Burial Service all in the same location.

Cruz will be remembered for the love he gave so freely and the laughter he shared so generously. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
