David Baxter

David A. Baxter, age 80 of Olathe, Kansas passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021.  He was born March 31, 1941 in Topeka, Kansas to Arnold and Alta (Hendricks) Baxter (both deceased).

David is survived by his wife (of 58 years) Royce, siblings Diana and Micheal Baxter,  son David (Julie) Baxter, daughter Jodi (Jeff) Braun, and grandchildren Joseph (Becky) Braun, Nicholas Braun, Katie (Kelly) Streck, Jessica Baxter, Amanda Baxter, and great grandchildren Hannah Braun, Jackson Braun, Mackinzy Braun, James Streck, and Ella Streck.

David was originally an artist working for commercial ad agencies.  Later in life he became an entrepreneur opening his own retail liquor store in Shawnee, KS.  He built it from a very small store to one of the bigger stores in the area at the time. He enjoyed the community and entertained his customers with his jokes.

After retirement, Dave enjoyed woodworking projects and remodeled 2 houses including one in Shawnee, KS an done at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Visitation is on Monday November 1, 2021 from 2-4:00pm at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS  66210
