David Zollars, Jr.

David Frederick Zollars, Jr. age 79 passed away with his family at home on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. Dave was born on July 17, 1942, in Kansas City, MO, to Dorothy and David Zollars, Sr. David graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School and played multiple sports. He received an associate degree from Penn Valley Community College. He furthered his studies at Kansas City Kansas Community College and Longview Community College. David served in the United States Army from 1961-1964. He was stationed for most of his tour in Stuttgart, Germany. David married Linda in 1970. Dave was employed by Honeywell for forty-two years as an electrical designer, where he earned an award for a design he created for the United States Air Force. David was a member of American Legion Post #327. He was preceded in death by his parents David and Dorothy, his brothers Charles and Donald. He’s survived by his sister Debbie Linder of Overland Park, KS, his beloved wife of 52 years, Linda, two children, Troy D Zollars (Mary) and Todd A Zollars (Viviane) both of Overland Park, KS.; 5 grandchildren Lana Zollars, Matthew Zollars, Angela Zollars, Isaac Zollars and Oliver Zollars all in Overland Park, KS. He was greatly involved in his sons’ activities, including cub scouts and sports. David coached his sons for over fifteen years through the 3 & 2 baseball club and the Greater American Basketball League. He was a very devoted husband and father. Dave enjoyed watching Kansas Jayhawk Basketball, and the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. David and Linda enjoyed several travels around the United States and Europe as well as cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, Mexico and the Southern Islands. They also went on family trips to Sedona, AZ, Las Vegas, NV, Orlando, FL, Los Angeles, CA and Whistler, BC, Canada. He enjoyed spending time watching movies and going to his grandchildren’s sporting events. David will forever be missed and will always have a special place in our hearts.

The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at CHRIST CHURCH ANGLECAN - 5500 W 91st St, Overland Park, KS 66207.
