Dorothy Agee

Dorothy Agee was born in Carrollton, Missouri on April 11th, 1925.  She moved to Johnson County with her family in 1942 and graduated from Olathe North High School.  From there she went to beauty school in KCMO and became a beautician for 48 years on 39th Street & Bell in KCMO.  She loved what she did and her customers, who loved her as well. Before she was diagnosed with Dementia with Lewy Bodies.  She often said she would still be working if she could. In the 1940’s she would eat at Virgil’s Café across the street from her beauty shop, which is where she met her husband Glenn Agee.  When he returned home from the Navy he went to work for his brother Virgil who owned the café.  They dated and were married within 8 months and were married for 73 years this past August 30th.  In the 1950’s they moved to Overland Park, KS.  She is survived by her two children: son, David Agee (wife Kathy), daughter, Carrie Agee, her two grandsons: John Agee and James Agee and her great grandson: Ashton Agee.
