Dorothy Cochran Graf, 95, of Overland Park, KS, passed away at her home in Hallsville, TX, on Monday, January 17, 2022, surrounded by her daughter and two granddaughters.
Memorial Services will be held at Johnson County Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, with visitation from 9:00-10:00 AM.
Dorothy was born on June 10, 1926, to James and Rachel Cochran in Tracy City, TN. She graduated from the University of Evansville in 1947, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. She spent over 25 years teaching 2nd grade. She met her husband, Robert Louis Graf, of over 70 years in college, and they married in 1948. Together they had three sons and one daughter
Dorothy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a devout member of the Church of Christ and spent over four decades as a member at Overland Park Church of Christ. Dorothy had a servant’s heart and enjoyed serving the Lord by volunteering at church and in her community.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Robert Graf, Jr. (Brenda) of Nashville, TN; Thomas C. Graf (Yvonne) of Overland Park, KS; Julie Graf of Hallsville, TX; her five grandchildren: Libby Graf; Robert L. Graf, III; Cathryn Graf Schubert (Pierce); Rachel Hughes; and Jennalee Hunter (Theodore); and her four great grandchildren: Jake Boomer; Emerin Boomer; Julianne Hunter; and Theodore Hunter, IV.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Louis Graf, and son, Commander James A. Graf, Medical Corp, U.S. Navy, daughter-in-law Cathy C. Graf, and brothers William Cochran, James Cochran, and Richard Cochran.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be sent to Christian Family Services in Dorothy’s memory.
