Mrs. Edith Tigner

December 5, 1922 — October 7, 2014

Edith was a great mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.
Edith lived to see and participate in many events that affected our nation and the lives of everyone she met.  Edith work as a riveter during WWII. Throughout her life she worked managing hotels and apartments, waitressed, domestic engineer and as a nanny.  Edith worked as a farmer’s wife in Colorado during good times and bad times. William Markham said that Edith was a spit fire.
Edith’s most coveted accomplishments were after she got saved. After Edith and William Markham got saved they became evangelists.  They were in the streets, jails and on the radio singing and playing the guitar.  Spreading the word of God everywhere they went for 18 years; during this time in Edith and William started a church in Nun, Colorado.  Edith taught Sunday school for many years. Edith was a prayer warrior through the rest of her life. Edith prayed for her family and friends daily. Edith was given to hospitality and loved people.
Edith married John in the early 1960’s and they were married until he passed away in 1999.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband John, daughter Victoria, and grand-daughter Kimberly.
Edith is survived by her first husband William three daughters Jean of Spring Hill, KS, Sharon of Spring Hill, KS and Cynthia of Kansas City, KS, and one son William II of Lincoln, NE.
14 grand children: Roxanne, Benjamin, John, Stephanie, Jeremy, Cassandra, Shawn Dell, Jodi, Billy Lee, William III, Leon, Shaun, Jason, and Shannan.
31 great grand children Anthony, Victoria, Christopher, Ethan, Abi, Andrew, Shelby, T.J., Celeb, Josh, Andrew, Cynthia, Emmanuel, Josiah, Isaac, Jacob, Jessica, Ashley, Cheyenne, Chase, Joshua, Dani, William David, Samuel, Bethany, Derek, Latisha, Jade, Tatium, Emma, Zort
12 great great grand children Emmie, Diego, Julia, Gracie, Anthony Jr., Alex, Jasmine, Gabriel, Kinley, Nakylen, Aryanna, Kellian
Great appreciation to Golden Living Center there Care of Edith our beloved mother.
Funeral Service will be at 3 pm on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210. Family will receive friends from 2 pm to 3pm on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the funeral home.
