Edward D. Steinbrugge, Jr.

Edward Donald Steinbrugge, age 82, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on August 5, 2026.

Edward, commonly known as Ned, was born on April 19,1944 in Summit, New Jersey.

The only son to Edward Donald Steinbrugge Sr and Joan L. Bunde.

Ned graduated from Babson Institute in Wellesley, Massachusetts with a bachelorette in finance.

During summer break prior to his senior year at Babson, he met Kathleen Weed of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They dated for one month and married in Milwaukee. Ned and Kathy then moved back to Wellesley. While Ned finished his studies, Kathy continued to work as an RN. After graduation, they move to Milwaukee.

While in Milwaukee, Ned was offered a position selling medical equipment.

He excelled in sales and was given a promotion selling medical equipment throughout the Midwest. The promotion transferred Ned and Kathy to Blue Springs, Missouri where they started a family. Ned continued to work in the medical field, while Kathy stayed home to raise their son Edward D Steinbrugge III, commonly known as Donnie.

When Donnie started high school Ned and Kathy moved to Overland Park, Kansas where they still reside. Ned continued to work in medical sales until retirement. Ned and Kathy were happily married for 52 years.

Ned is survived by his wife Kathy, his son Donnie and wife Angie and his three grandchildren, Kiersten and husband Tyler Rhodes, Cody Steinbrugge and Luke Steinbrugge.

A memorial service will be held on August 20 at Johnson County Funeral Chapel & Memorial Gardens from 2 to 4 pm. His family is grateful for the kindness and support shown during this time.
