Elizabeth "Betsie" Miller of Overland Park, KS passed away peacefully at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO on July 6, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born on October 18, 1938, in Saginaw, Michigan, the third and youngest child of Harold "Howdie" Slagh and Florence Nelson.

Betsie's career included clerical roles at Dow Chemical and several transportation companies including Yellow Freight System. Betsie also worked as an assistant preschool teacher at the KC Church of Christ.

Betsie was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. She was a devoted member of her church and servant to the Lord at KC Church of Christ in Overland Park, KS. She could be found every Sunday morning near the front doors passing out birthday cards, anniversary cards, and gifts of encouragement. Showing appreciation for others was a top priority for Betsie. She meticulously maintained a system to ensure no one's special day was ever overlooked.

Betsie [Slagh Miner] Miller is preceded in death by her parents; Harold Slagh and Florence Nelson, brothers; Tim Slagh and Jan Slagh; her loving husband; Leon Miller, and son; Ron Miner.

Betsie is survived by her son; Kevin Miner (Tammie) of Leawood, KS, daughter-in-law; Lori (wife of late son, Ron) of Shawnee, KS, her son; Steve Miller (Karen) of Lakeville, MN, and daughter; Karel Johnston (Adam) of Andover, MN, 10 wonderful grandchildren; Ryan, Ashley, Amber, Drew, Megan, Adam, Gage, Cora, Max, and Bryn; and 5 adorable great-grandchildren; Ruby, Grayson, Addelyn, Riley, and Elaina.

Betsie thrived in the company of others. A true people person, she cherished sharing experiences with everyone she met, from her closest family to new acquaintances. A continual source of encouragement, Betsie brought a cherished hug, warmth, and lighthearted joy to all gatherings. Betsie loved meeting with others to eat out, making every dining experience an opportunity for connection and laughter. She treasured the memories of her friends and family, meticulously documenting them with photos and detailed notes in her calendar, ensuring the joy of shared experiences would never fade.

Though Betsie will be greatly missed, her family and friends are comforted knowing she has won the race, is reunited with her loving husband and son, and is in Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In lieu of flowers, Betsie's family requests donations be made to Kansas City Hospice House (12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64145) so that they may continue to provide comforting care and end of life services to others. Donations can be made at: https://kchospice.org/donate/.
