Erma Lee Glasnapp

October 20, 1925 — January 27, 2024

Leawood

Our mother, Erma Lee Glasnapp, passed away on Saturday evening January 27, 2024, of natural causes.  She was born in Kansas City, MO in October 1925 and raised in Iowa near Cedar Rapids by William and Dora Burrell.  She married Ensign Raymond Glasnapp, US Navy of Ringsted, IA in February 1946.  She raised four children Cheri Wright, Randy (Pam), Larry, and Peggy White.  Erma Lee had five grandchildren Erin Wright, Ryan Glasnapp, Sarah Herrington, Xerxes “Z” Herrington III, and Vincent Herrington.  Erma Lee enjoyed her four great-grandchildren Renna and Annika Wright-Ghandi, and Xerxes “Jax” and Ezra Herrington.  Erma Lee was preceded in death by her parents Will and Dode, husband Raymond and son, Larry.

Erma Lee, who also went by her middle name, Lee, worked alongside her husband in their many and varied businesses which included private investigations, dry cleaning shops, venture capital funding, motel management, banking and many more.  One of her children commented that her organizational skills were critical to her husband’s and children’s successes.  She was a kind and giving person and will be greatly missed by all. She reflected the characteristics of the Solomon’s Proverbs 31 woman, “ Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.”

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Parkinson’s disease research.  A memorial service will take place on March 17th at 1pm at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Following the service, visitation with the family and a luncheon will take place in the Fellowship Hall.
