Eugene A. Green, Jr.

July 26, 1953 — February 25, 2024

Belton, MO

It is with deep sadness and grief that we report the passing of Eugene “Gene" A. Green Jr. at the age of 70. Gene passed away peacefully at his home in Belton, Missouri, on February 25th , 2024, while surrounded by his loved ones.

Gene was born to Catherine M. Parrish and Eugene A. Green Sr. on July 26, 1953, in Kansas City, KS. He was raised by his mom and stepdad, Donald Parrish, and was the oldest of 6 children. Gene was a Public Works Street Maintenance Worker with the City of Leawood for 33 years before retiring. During these years, Gene enjoyed playing softball and was on a team with his co-workers. He was a family man who adored spending time with his loved ones, consisting of 8 children, 16 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

With his family and friends ,Gene often enjoyed playing volleyball, going to racetracks, going on trips, and inviting his loved ones over for family game nights, bonfires, or simply to relax in his backyard swimming pool that he consistently worked day in and day out to maintain.

Gene was the personification of what it is to be a reliable man. He was also very well known for his charisma, making friends with anyone he met. Most importantly, he was a man who was looked up to by all who’d gotten to know him. Though no single word can properly describe his caliber of man, the closest would simply be “amazing.”

He is survived by his daughters, Kim Nigh, Tracy Green, Magan Lawson, Mandy Green, and Katie Corona; sons: Kyle Green and Andrew Green; daughters-in-law: Kortney Green and Ashley Green; sons-in-law: Michael Corona and Keith Lawson; sisters: Diana Close and Lisa Taussig; brothers: Mark Green and Donnie Parrish; sisters-in-law: Gina Green and Cindy Parrish, brother-in-law: David Nelson, along with 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He has been preceded in death by his daughter, Lora Green; mother, Catherine Parrish; step-dad, Donald Parrish; sister, Cathy Nelson, and brother-in-law, Christopher Mayer.
