Evelyn Ford

Evelyn L. Ford, 93, of Overland Park, KS, passed away October 15, 2017.  She was born in Kansas City, MO, but spent most of her life in Overland Park. Evelyn graduated from Shawnee Mission Rural High School and went on to become a member of the alumni reunion committee.  She was married to David G. Ford for 50 years, until his death in 1996.   Evelyn worked for Farmers Insurance, and Shawnee Mission Food Service for 25 years, until retirement. She was a member of the Overland Park Presbyterian Church where she was an Elder and the longest standing member of the church.  She enjoyed singing in the church choir and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister; brother; and grandson.  Evelyn is survived by her son, David Ford (Marilynn); daughter, Donna Palmer; grandsons, Andrew Palmer (Carrie), Glen Palmer (Katie), and Scott Ford; granddaughters, Stephanie Reynolds and Christy Gantt;  great-grandsons, Jack, Henry, and Graham; great-granddaughters, Sydney, Julie, Lauren, and Aubree; great-great-grandson Colton; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 from 10:00-11:00am, service at 11:00 am, both held at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, with Burial at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.  Fond memories and condolences for the family maybe left at johnsoncoutnychapel.com.
