Floyd Lee Clark, Jr.

December 6, 1945 — June 27, 2025

Leawood

Floyd L. Clark passed away Friday, June 27th, in his home in Leawood, Kansas. He was 79 years old. He attended Northeast High School in Kansas City and then worked at Hill’s Engineering as a draftsman. He volunteered for the army in August of 1966, serving as a combat engineer. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Expert (Rifle), the Vietnamese Service Medal, and the Vietnamese Campaign MEDAL w/60 Device. He was an excellent marksman. After that, he worked for General Motors for a while. Next, he and his father operated Floyd’s Apco in North Kansas City. Eventually, he operated several small businesses. Finally, he worked for others in the transportation industry. He loved his time at All Freight, where he met many lifelong friends. He enjoyed all kinds of hunting and fishing, spending time with his family and friends, old movies, REELZ, and murder mysteries. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Dianne, his daughters, Christy Andruss and Cara Paul (Mike), grandchildren Zane Andruss, Will Andruss (Carolyn), Marisa Paul, Zach Paul, and great grandson, August Andruss. His surviving siblings are Robynn Crawford (Harry), Joel Clark, and Bonny English. He also leaves many beloved brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Lee Clark, his mother Dorothy Elizabeth Clark (Roach), his stepfather, Albert Roach, and sisters Marvie Hilden and Gayla Williams (Jim), and his two sets of grandparents. We wish to thank the wonderful people at the Kansas City Veteran’s Medical Center for their years of caring for him, especially catching his lung cancer at a 1 B and helping him survive for 6 years after radiation for it. We are thankful for Advanced Hospice of Kansas City and St. Joseph’s Medical Center, also.
