Geneva M Krieg, 98, passed away on April 30, 2023, at her home at Westchester Village in Lenexa, Ks.
Geneva was born April 12th, 1925, in White Cloud, Ks, to Albert and Fannie Gladhart.
After graduating Hiawatha High School, in 1943, she moved to Kansas City to work in a defense plant as a "Rosie the Riveter". After WW2 ended, she met Lyman "Bud" Krieg, and they married on April 20, 1947. Their marriage produced 4 children.
Geneva was a homemaker until 1968, when she began working for the IRS, where she worked for 22 years, before retiring.
In retirement, Geneva and Bud took up bicycling, and cycled across Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. She was active in her church, at Bethany Lutheran Church, in Overland Park, Ks. where she was a member of LWML and The Lutheran Braille Workers, among other activities. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking bread and helping others.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, her parents, and her 3 brothers, Warren, Gordon, David, and great grandson, Richard Pratz.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn Enyeart, Bonnie Brownsberger (Doug) Connie Grotefendt (Wes) and Neal (Barb). 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, with a bun in the oven and 9 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church,Wednesday, May 3, with visitation at 10:30am, followed by the service at 11:00.
