Mr. George Rushton

George Michael “Mike” Rushton, 66, of Roeland Park, KS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2014 surrounded by his family.
Mike was born on July 6, 1948 to William and Luella Rushton in Kansas City, MO. Mike grew up and lived most of his life in and around Merriam, Ks .
In 1966 he joined the United States Navy. While in the Navy Mike served in Vietnam, and in 1972 received an Honorable Discharge. After returning home, Mike became a part of the I.B.E.W Local 124 as an electrician. He retired after approximately 35 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents , William G. Rushton and Luella M. Rushton, His Brother, Jay W. Rushton and his Nephew Christopher L. Collene.
He is survived by three siblings, Jan Davidson of Shawnee, Paul Rushton of Shawnee and Deneen Stafos also of Shawnee. Four Nephews Brett, Russell. Mark and Rick .Three Nieces, Angela, Leslie and Jennifer. Five Great Nephews and Three Great Nieces. Mike will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Johnson County Chapel. Inurnment will follow at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to American Cancer Society, 5721 W. 119th St. Overland Park, KS.
