Howard M. Toomay, 91, of Shawnee, passed away July 2, 2015, at the Veterans Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Howard was born January 20, 1924 in Polo, Missouri to James and Theodocia Toomay. Howard married Laura Mae McFarland and they were married for 68 years before she passed away on June 13, 2014. He served in WWII in the European Conflict where he was a nose gunner in a B-24 and was in the 15th and 3rd Air Force. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Lottie, Mary Ellen, and Wanda; brothers: Ralph, David and Arthur. He is survived by his children, Ron (Debbie), Richard(Beverly), Cheryl(John Hatch), Bob(Lori) and Karen; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Legion Post 327.
