Irma Kupchin

December 22, 1921 — June 21, 2014

Irma “Jean” Kupchin (nee Leverich) 92, passed peacefully from her home on
June 21, 2014, surrounded by loving family.  Born to Frank and Nettie
(Turner) Leverich on December 22, 1921, in Baxter Springs, Kansas; Jean was
one of ten children.  Jean was preceded in death by a number of family
members, and had her parents, 3 sisters, 5 brothers and one grandchild,
Nathan Rosser, patiently waiting to be reunited with her in spirit.  She is
survived by her sister Joan Young. Jean leaves behind her husband, Stanley
Joseph Kupchin of 64 years; 7 children; Christopher “Kit” Dean(Betsy)
Kupchin, Kimberly June Kupchin, Regina Kay Rosser, Marleen Jo(Dave)
Diehl, Tobi Lynn(Jay) Stewart, Rebecca Sue(Steven) Piper and
Jonathan Edward (Carrie) Kupchin all residing in Johnson County, Kansas.
Jean leaves 14 grandchildren, Amanda (Curt) Huwe, Josh (Mindy) Kupchin,
Vincent Kupchin, Jesse Rosser, *Nathan Rosser, (passed)* Hannah Fleming,
Amy Nail, Sara (Brandon) Ko, Taylor Stewart, Chase Stewart, Megan (Nick)
Weddle, Mallory Kupchin, Kaileigh Kupchin, Madison Kupchin and Kyle
Kupchin and 6 great grandchildren; Jackson Huwe, Katelyn Huwe, Lillyan
Handy, Caleb Ko, Addyson Ko and Karter Kupchin.  Jean and Stan met in a
soda shop in Joplin, Missouri in 1949.  Together, they founded Santa Fe
Body Shop and Santa Fe Tow in 1963. Jean and Stan traveled the country
attending car shows. Her passions were her crossword puzzles, reading, and
bird watching.  How she loved her cardinals!  Above all else, she was a
loving wife, a proud mother, and a doting grandmother and
great-grandmother.  She will be dearly missed.  Private services are being
handled by Johnson County Funeral Chapel.
