Ivan H. Prigge, 78, one of Nebraska’s biggest Husker fans, passed away Friday, September 26, 2014, in Overland Park, KS.
Ivan was born on the farm September 4, 1936, near Rising City, NE, to Henry and Clara Prigge.  He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1964 with a Degree in Accounting.  Ivan served in the US Army.  He was President of the Western Regional Conference of Rural Youth; member of the Association of Systems Management; President of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Marshalltown, IA; and member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Overland Park.  Ivan married Marlene Muller on November 20, 1965, in St Paul’s Lutheran Church, rural Hooper, NE.  He worked for several Fortune 500 companies during his career including Fisher Controls (Division of Monsanto) in Marshalltown, IA; Cooper Industries in Coffeyville, KS; Hughes Aircraft in Tucson, AZ; and IBM and Transamerica Life in Kansas City.  Ivan enjoyed the fellowship of others participating in the Empty Nesters social group and the Saturday night dinner group from Atonement.  He enjoyed family reunions and even traveled to Germany for a reunion with his 22 first cousins.  Ivan and Marlene enjoyed spending winters together with their Mesa, AZ family where he was involved in the Fountain of the Sun computer club and attended Victory Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Norman; sister, Eleanora (Wilbert) Hohndorf; nephew, Steven Hohndorf; and sister-in-law, Clysta Prigge.
Ivan is survived by his loving wife, Marlene; brothers, John and Ernie (Barb); sister, Leona (Reinhold) Otte; brother-in-law, Duane (Barb) Muller; and 35 nieces and nephews.
A gathering for a celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2014, at Atonement Lutheran Church, 9948 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.  An inurnment will take place at a later date at St Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Hooper, NE.
