Jack E. Seymour, 91, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014, at The Sweet Life at Rosehill, Shawnee, KS.
Jack was born July 19, 1923, in Ironwood, MI, to John and Alma Seymour. After high school, he was drafted into the US Army and served in WWII 8th Armor. Jack fought in the last four campaigns including the Battle of the Bulge. He was self-employed in the roofing industry for a majority of his life. Jack and his wife, Joyce, were married 58 years and enjoyed traveling, crafts, and volunteering.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kelly Seymour; and sister, Evelyn Rintala.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Joan Seymour; children, Donald (Cindy) and Susan Seymour; brother, William Seymour; and granddogs, Bugz and Stella.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014, at the Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at the Johnson County Chapel. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS.
