James Joseph Coppenbarger Jr., born April 2nd 1945, age 80, of Overland Park Ks, passed away peacefully at Advent Medical Center surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Louise Coppenbarger, his father, James Joseph Coppenbarger, his mother, Marion Coppenbarger, and his sister, Carolyn Trenolone. He leaves behind his brother, Tim Coppenbarger, his sisters, Lisa and Cathy, his grandson, Jacob James Coppenbarger, great grandson Jonah James Coppenbarger, his two sons, James Arthur Coppebarger and Guy Julius, daughter-in-law Teresa Gallo, granddaughter, Lacey Gallo, grandson, Joseph Gallo, and great-granddaughters, Josie Ferris and Annie Gallo.
James was a bricklayer and a member of the Bac Local 15 Union for 60 years. He was a metal detectorist and avid fisherman. He had many hobbies including trains, models and was a Civil War Enthusiast and a fan of Westerns (mainly John Wayne). He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. James was a very loving father and grandfather. He was very proud of and close to his grandson Jacob James.
A private graveside service will be held for family and close friends. He will deeply missed.
